Soooo busy!

Hiya everyone,

I'm sorry I've been neglecting my blogging recently but the stuff I've been working on can't be blogged about yet so I thought I'd share a couple of gorgeous piccies of my daughter who is just 4 months old instead. I've made 6 out of 9 Joanna Sheen samples, 2 cards for my cardmaking workshop and after I've finished the samples I have 4 cards to make for Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine! It's been a while since I just made a card for the sheer hell of it but I'm really enjoying the variety of what I'm doing right now. The JS samples are needed for shows on the 9th/10th April so I can post them then! I'm looking forward to Mother's day as I've got my mum a fab pressie and because it's my first Mother's day!

Last of Joanna Sheen "ocean" DT cards

Hiya Everyone,

This is the last of my Joanna Sheen DT cards that I made with the new "tales of the ocean" stamp sets. The paper is from one of my Summer Driggs kits although I can't remember which one as I made it a few weeks ago now. The quote I found on google which I printed out with fab handwriting font called "schoon" which I downloaded free from here. The shells and sentiment were stamped from the sheet and I coloured in the images with my promarkers. The longer shell was layered up for a bit of interest. Starfish charm and crochet lace from quixotic paperie which I love.

I am still working on the next batch of Joanna Sheen DT cards.
3 down - 6 more to go! They aren't stamps I would choose to work with personally but I'm quite chuffed with my efforts so far. Working outside your comfort zone can be fun and surprising as I've found with these. It gives you chance to do something a little different. They are needed for shows on 9th/10th April so I'll be able to post them then.

I will enter this into the following challenges:-

Joanna Sheen DT card

Hiya everybody,

I've had a busy week as I've just sent off some fab summery cards to CM & P for their July issue and I am now currently working on a different set of Joanna Sheen cards so I thought I'd share another of the ones I recently sent off from the new "tales of the ocean" stamp sheets. This I made by stamping the fish images out a few times. The main image cut with circle and layered with a scalloped circle nestie. I coloured in a few extra fish which I used to layer up the image to give a sense on depth. I coloured the fish with my promarkers. There was a small plant stamp which I stamped at the bottom of my circle.

I used my promarkers to add dots to the plantlife to thicken it up a bit. I went over my fish with my sakura clear glaze pen which I really can't get enough of right now! I printed off a wishy washy mossy green paper which I roughly stamped a leafy design down one diagonal half of the paper. I added promarker dots as before. I stamped out the starfish twice and layered it up. The sentiment I stamped from the sheet but cut out all the individual words for impact. I inked all the edges with brushed cordouroy distress ink. I then added a few green gems to the corner. These were a little too bright so I toned them down by colouring over them with my olive green promarker. All the stamps I used were all from the same stamp sheet.

I will enter this into the following challenges:-

Crafty purple frog - Green
Delightful challenge - Green
Digi doodles - Anything goes
Pixiedust studio - Green
Stamping vacation - Nestabilities

Joanna Sheen DT cards

Hiya Everyone,

This is another of the Joanna Sheen sample cards that I made with the fab new "Tales of the ocean" stamp sets. The papers are from funky fairy gorjuss gingham downloads which you can sadly no longer get although Pink Petticoat does a similar download and their stuff is great when you are colour matching. The border is made up of my good old faithful swiss dots embossing folder. I have loads but use this one far more than any of the others. I glittered the image with stardust stickles glitterglue and used a few prima flowers. The lovely pearl brad is from a set made by the paper company and I have to remind myself that I bought them to use as I keep getting them out and putting them back in the box Lol. Why do we do this? Buy something pretty then feel bad if we use it. Does anybody else cringe when they take the first few papers from a crisp, new paperstack?

I hope it's not just me! :o)

I added the sentiment as I felt it needed one so I went with "make a splash!" as it seemed appropriate.

I will enter this into the following challenges:-

Creative cowgirls - Monochromatic
Gingerloft - Use flowers
One stitch at a time - Glitter and gems
Scrappy frogs - Good luck
House of Gilli - Pastel and bling

Less is more challenge card

Hiya Everyone,

This is a card I made yesterday for the less is more challenge. The sentiment is a Penny black stamp that my dad picked up on his car boot travels for next to nothing. After stamping my sentiment I cut out a heart shape which I laid onto the card in a few places and drew around it lightly with pencil. I then went over the pencil lines with my red stickles glitterglue. I think it took me about 10 minutes altogether. Clean and simple isn't really my thing but I do appreciate simpler styles can be just, if not more effective than a very busy card. It's a good job we're all different though isn't it otherwise we'd all be making the same cards!

I will enter this into the following challenges:-

Less is more - One layer + off the page
Crafty calendar - Love
One stop challenge - Clean and simple

Another Joanna Sheen DT card

Hiya Everyone,

I just thought I'd share another of my Joanna Sheen "Tales of the ocean" DT cards with you. This is a real CAS style (which is sooooo unlike me Lol) I stamped the shell image 4 times and then cut out 4 squares at random. I coloured them with my promarkers and then mounted them onto beige card after I inked all the edges in brushed cordouroy. The sentiment I printed out with blackout serif font in brown. A bit of raffia and a lovely large starfish charm and that's it. I wish all cards were as quick to make as this one. The real challenge with the DT cards is thinking up several very different designs. I probably spend more time thinking about them than actually making them Lol.

I received the new stamps today that I need to make 9 cards with for shows early April. That's me busy for the next week or so then!

Thanks for looking!!!
