Sending hugs......

Hiya everyone,

As I had a spare five minutes I thought I'd share the 3rd and final card entry into the Card Designer of the Year competition that I was runner up in (Simply cards and papercraft magazine).

The papers are from the Prima "birdsong" paperstack.  I decided against a stamped image so apart from a few dies and a stamping up notebook punch I only used the paperstack.  I made the envelope from cream vellum by first pulling apart a small envelope to use as a template.  It looked far nicer in the flesh but I suppose most cards do don't they?
I will enter this card into the following challenges:-

Tip top tuesdayLavishly lucious layers
Inky chicks - BINGO (Ribbon, sentiment, flowers)
Crafty bloggers network - Flowers
Kaboodle doodles - Ribbon
Make it monday - Always anything goes
Unstampabelles - Use one or more dies
Speedy and friends - Use twine
Catch the bug - BINGO (Twine, ribbon, starts with a "P" so punch)
Sugar creek hollow - TIC TAC TOE - Bling, ribbon, diecuts
Inspire me friday - Anything goes

Thanks for looking!

Card Designer of the Year Competition!!!

Hiya everyone,

I have some fab news that I can finally announce - I was runner up in the Card designer of the Year competition ran by Simply Cards and Papercrafts magazine.  I was really surprised to place as I was 8 and a half months pregnant when I made my entries and very nearly didn't bother as I'd not made much for ages.

This is 1 of  3 of my entries and the first I made.  The image is by Mo Manning and is called "Not even a mouse" and is available here.  I printed the image out about 7 times and cut out various layers before colouring them in with my promarkers/flexmarkers.  This was very fiddly but it was worth it as it really "popped" off the card!  I kept the rest of the card relatively simple as I wanted the image to really stand out.

The papers are from the Papermania Silent Night A4 stack which I really love for the rich traditional colours.  I liked it so much I bought 3 pads when it came out which is a while ago now!

I have used a LOTV Christmas round sentiment and my Martha Stewart holly border punch and my new(ish) Tim Holtz weathered clock die.

I will share the other 2 cards with you shortly.

My Joanna Sheen Teamie Lexi was also a runner up in the competition too!  What a small world!

Thanks for looking!
