House Mouse - Chill out!

Hiya everyone,

I have a House Mouse card to share with you today that I made last year for Making Cards magazine using the HM triple CD rom.  I am using this for my "A little bit crafty" - Are we there yet?!? challenge as this image invokes lots of feeling of those up and coming summer holidays!

The papers I used were from Bazzill papers kit that I had leftover from a magazine commission called "Lucy's crab shack"

I hope you join in with the challenge!

Make it Sparkle! Joanna Sheen Challenge News!!!

Hiya everyone,

This is sadly my final Joanna Sheen Challenge blog DT as Joanna has decided to close the blog that I have run for 2 years :(  I am gutted as it's been a huge part of my life but I will continue to make samples for her with new products etc. There are more details on the challenge blog here.

My card has been made using the new Gruffies and Happy Hoppers CD and is one of the samples I made for the launch on Create and Craft TV.  This is an 8x8 card as I like to vary the size and shape of my samples to mix it up a bit!

Make it sparkle!

Hiya everyone,

I have to share with you today a card I made for Making Cards magazine's Christmas Special which was released in association with Joanna Sheen.  I have already shared a few I made but thought I'd use this for my own A little bit crafty "Christmas cheer" challenge as well as the Joanna Sheen "Make it sparkle!" challenge.

I used papers and elements from the Making Cards magazine which I think are available on the Victorian Christmas CD and I have used an acetate panel round the the image although this was difficult to photograph due to the shine!   I also added some pearls to the acetate although this is also difficult to see!

I normally would have 2 cards to share but I have been so busy and taking a wee crafting break so I intend to make more cards for the midway reminders on the 15th December.

The A little bit crafty challenge is as usual a month long challenge as the Joanna Sheen one is also a month long challenge although it is normally 2 weekly.  We have some fab prizes up for grabs on the ALBC challenge and there is a whopping £30 gift voucher for the JS challenge as it a double challenge.

I hope you are all well on your way getting your Christmas preparations underway and don't get too stressed along the way.  I'm quite pleased as I've virtually finished my Christmas shopping!
We hope to put the tree and decorations up next weekend - I like to get Tayla's birthday out of the way first so it feels more separate.

Hugs Paula. x

Let's celebrate!

Hiya everyone,

Today I have a card I made for Making Cards magazine Christmas special that was in association with Joanna Sheen so that it had lots of papers and elements from her new Victorian Christmas CD Rom.

I am using this as my DT card for the new "Celebrate" challenge that starts today here at the Joanna Sheen Challenge blog and runs till the 28th November.  It is quite a plain stepper card but the magazine doesn't want the designers to use much extra stuff as they want people to be able to buy the magazine and only have to add the basics such as ribbon/gems etc.  I made 9 cards for the Christmas special and 8 of them were used so I was quite pleased!

I hope you're all having a good weekend and are all getting set for Christmas.  I've virtually finished all my Christmas shopping but have been conned now into helping my mum get hers as she finds it difficult whilst looking after my nan as she doesn't get out too much and doesn't have the internet yet.
Hugs

Button it up!

Hiya everyone,

Today's I'm sharing my Joanna Sheen challenge DT card for the new "Button it up!" challenge that's starting today.  I have used an image and papers from the new Joanna Sheen Victorian Christmas CD which you can check out here.

This card was actually made for and published in Making Cards magazine's Christmas Special that was in collaboration with Joanna Sheen.  I think 8 of my cards were published in total which is awesome!  It's quite basic but the idea behind the magazine is that you can buy the magazine with the free images/papers and you should be able to make the majority of the projects with basic crafting supplies.  I only added card, buttons, a charm and some bakers twine.  I like the cleanness of the white space and think it looks striking with the red and blue.

Thanks for looking!

Coffee and cream

Hiya everyone,

I have to share with you my DT card for the new Joanna Sheen challenge that started today.  The theme is coffee and cream so I decided on these gorgeous papers from my new leaf first edition papers and used this cute little House Mouse off the JS House Mouse triple CD.  It's just a topper but I printed it out 4 times and cut out all the elements to decoupage it myself.  The CD has lots of decoupage on it as well as papers, digi stamps etc but nothing that suited the challenge so I made my own!  To check out the CD for yourself you can find it here.

My card is a little late as I have been super busy and planned to make it last night after finishing some magazine work but family unexpected dropped in and ended up staying till after 1am so I didn't get chance.  Hubby and the kids are off to the in-laws to watch the Man Utd game so I literally just made it now.  Better late than never I suppose.

I have virtually finished all my Christmas magazine design work so I'm now cracking on with ideas for the new year.  It's hard working so far in advance as some stuff isn't released till much nearer the time which is no good when you need to start Christmas stuff in June! Lol

I will have to try and update my much neglected blog but as I've said before there seriously aren't enough hours in a day.  I still have soooo many samples to share with you all.  I do appreciate you taking the time to look at my blog and I do love to read your comments, criticism, etc.
To check out the new challenge which runs till Thursday 3rd Oct then please go here.

I look forward to seeing your entries!!!

Thanks for looking!

Pretty in pink!

Hiya everyone,

As you probably already know how much I love House Mouse you will know how thrilled I was to have some of my cards made using the fab triple House Mouse CD rom from Joanna Sheen in the latest issue (Sept) of Making cards magazine!!!
They are very bright and summery although I made them a few months back.  For the last few weeks I've been making Christmas cards which has been no fun especially in the heatwave! Lol

Anyhoo, going back to my challenge card for the Joanna Sheen challenge blog which is a basic easel made using an image and papers again off the triple HM CD rom.  It really is jam-packed full of toppers/decoupage/digi stamps etc - check it out here!  The theme is Pretty in Pink so we want to see all your pink creations!

It's all pretty basic stuff but it shows off the image, papers and the matching sentiment off the CD well.  I actually  made it for Joanna for the launch on Create and Craft TV of the CD a few weeks back.  I hadn't made an easel card for a while so it made a nice change!

I hope that you join in with the new challenge that you can find here!

Boys will be boys!

Hellloooooo!

Long time, no see!  I cannot begin to tell you how busy I am.  I am now fortunate to be doing work for Cardmaking and Papercraft, Making Cards and Crafts Beautiful magazines so the majority of what I've been making I can't share with you yet but I don't want you to think that I fell off the planet or anything!  As I have been snowed under I made the difficult decision to stand down from the La Pashe DT.  I have enjoyed my time with Jak and the other girlies on the DT but as I am now going back to work in September (boooooo) I decided I needed to trim back what I have on my plate which is still rather a lot.

Anyhoo, back to the matter at hand which is my new DT card for the Joanna Sheen challenge blog.  The theme this time is "Boys will be boys" so any male themed cards.  I have used this fab Gruffies stamp called "Ride of your life" which you can get here.  I have coloured the image in with my promarkers and it's the first Gruffie I've coloured in for ages.  The papers are from a Bo Bunny "Welcome home" paperstack.  It was the only paperstack that I had to hand that looked particular masculine and I was kinda running late making my card the night before!  Apologies for the naff piccie but It was 12.30am and one of my bulbs had gone!  I think I'll take another piccie tomorrow when the light is better.

I hope that you'll join me and the rest of the DT with all of your masculine cards over at the Joanne Sheen Challenge blog.

House Mouse & Friends - Charming!

Hiya everyone,
Today sees a brand new challenge over at the House Mouse & Friends Monday challenge.  The theme today is "Use a charm" so I decided to use this Joanna Sheen sample I made a few weeks ago which I made using the new House Mouse triple CD rom.   It is one of the many printed toppers which I printed twice - once cut in a circle and the other I just cut round the bird.
I decided against using the matching paper for this image as I wanted to do a white-on-white card and it ended up looking like this!  It's a bit difficult to photograph but I'm pleased with how it looked in the end.
There are 2 fab prizes up for grabs:-
A £10 gift voucher from sponsor Joanna Sheen

AND

This Wooden Stamp Turning Over A New Leaf (HMKR1045)

I hope you join me and the rest of the DT in our new challenge!

The theme this time is Father's Day or just a mans card.  As usual we have some fab sponsors:-

AND....

  SIMON SAYS STAMP

AND

So there are 3 fab chances to win!!!

My card has been made with the new Joanna Sheen House Mouse triple CD and was actually one of my samples for the TV launch.  It's quite plain but then again men's cards tend to be don't they?  A bit of twine and a few buttons as well as those fab papermania mini scrabble letters to spell out "You rock"

Spots and stripes - Joanna Sheen DT card

Hiya everyone,

Today I have to share with you my Joanna Sheen challenge DT card.  The theme this time is "Spots and stripes"  so we want to see spots or stripes or both if you fancy on your creations!

The DT were all sent the Tom Meilko project book with CD rom so this is what I made.  It is a 6x6 card using an image and matching papers from the CD.  I was going to do a decoupage one but I've been so busy that I just threw this together friday night so I just went with a topper instead.   You can (hopefully) just about see the stripy paper although it is quite pale.

I used half a doily, a bit of twine and a few charms and dew drops.  I used a bit of netting type lace in the hope that it would look a bit seasidey and I think it works! Lol.

The images lend themselves really well to the CAS style so they are great for mens cards.

House Mouse & Friends - Flower power?

Hiya everyone,

As today is monday I have a House Mouse & Friends DT card to share with you.  The theme today as chosen by my teamie Stacy is:-

Joanna Sheen is our sponsor this time with a £10 gift voucher
to give away to a lucky winner!
I have used this fab lilac image which is just one of the fab toppers on the New Joanna Sheen Triple CD Rom that has just come out!  The backing papers I used are also off the CD as is the sentiment although I cut mine out with a round tag die.  I have also used my memory box corner bow die and my Joy crafts butterfly garden die.  This was actually one of my many samples that I made for the launch of the CD on Create and Craft TV.
