Joanna Sheen House Mouse Christmas

Hiya everyone,

I've been so busy scheduling all of the next week's post on the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog that my own poor blog has been a bit neglected lately so I thought I would share another of my samples I made a few weeks back.  It is actually a image from one of the new get well soon range but I coloured the bird like a robin and made a Christmas card instead.  The stamp set is called "sweet kisses" and is available here at Joanna Sheen.

I have coloured the image with my promarkers and the papers are from a 6x6 paperstack that I got free with a magazine - it may be a HOTP one but I can't really remember.

I have been experimenting with photo effects - what do you think?  Better with or without?  I can't decide! Lol

I am now looking forward to spending Christmas with my and my hubbies family.  I've still got some DT work to do but I may have to do that tuesday onwards as I won't be in much over the weekend.

I wish all of you a Great Christmas and a fabulous new year!

All the best for 2012!!!

Wedding table plan

Hiya everyone,

As you may remember me telling you I was at a wedding over the weekend.  After offering to make my cousin a table plan when they got engaged about 2 and a half years ago, they asked me 3 weeks before the wedding if I could still do it!  Luckily, I'd just finished a load of DT work so I was still able to do it.

They had a white and navy wintery theme but I was told that they wanted a little thumbnail of various Christmas films rather than table numbers.  I did try adding a few snowflakes but they didn't look right so I left them off.

The easel is mine that I used for my own wedding table planner as is the ornate frame.

The only thing I regret is that I didn't have enough time to get a large sheet of white hammercard as a backing and had to use some smooth card from Rymans instead but I don't suppose anybody cared but me.

I also wrapped and decorated the wedding post box to match that you can just see in the first picture.

It was a really lovely day and I was so pleased with Tayla as she was so well behaved all day - even in the church.  She had a bit of a snooze on me during the speeches but she was ever so good.  Considering she is only just 12 months old.  We are taking her to see Santa and some real reindeers at a local farm in the next few days as a treat.

Thanks for looking!!!

Joanna Sheen House Mouse Christmas

Hiya everyone,

Some of the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog DT managed to make 2nd cards which I changed today as we are now part way thru the month.  I thought I'd add this as I made this a while ago but never shared it on my blog.  It is from the singing angels stamp set which you can get here.

I coloured the image with my promarkers and added a little glamour dust to the wings.  The papers are from my boys DCWV Boys Nana's nursery paperstack.  This was an attempt at being clean and simple so it's not my usual style but I quite like it.

I have such a busy weekend it's untrue.  A Christmas Do on friday night, family wedding on saturday and a different family Do for Christmas on sunday due to those going away for Christmas.  Good job today is my last working day till after Christmas - I think I'll need a rest after this weekend!

There's still time to join in this months "Christmas wishes" challenge here and you have till 8pm to join in this weeks Blog candy here.

Thanks for looking!!!

Wild rose studio "Party Fergus"

Hiya Everyone,

I thought I'd share this card I made a wee while ago for one of my cardmaking workshops at the Windmill Craft Centre.  They've stopped at the moment until after Christmas now.

This little cutie is called "Party Fergus" and is from a range of my favourite stamps from Wild Rose Studio.  I have coloured it with my promarkers and the papers/sentiments/candy are all from Craftwork cards.  It's a little plainer than my usual style but when doing the workshops when I need to cater for 2-3 cards in 2 hours with a mixture of abilities, it's difficult doing something not too easy or too difficult.  This particular workshop was to highlight matting and layerering techniques.

I can't believe that it's nearly Christmas already.  I haven't had any spare time to make any Christmas cards at all apart from a few DT ones as I've been so busy.  As long as I make my mum, the in-laws, my hubby and Tayla one I'll be happy!

A few months back I said I was going to send one of my followers a card and a little christmas present.

That person is:-

If you e-mail me Yvonne - I will pop you a gift in the post!

House Mouse Get well sample

Hiya Everyone,

I have to share with you today another one of the new (ish) get well soon House Mouse Stamps that were released for the last House Mouse Saturday.  This stamp is called "sweet kisses" and is available here at Joanna Sheen.

I have coloured the image with my promarkers and added glossy accents to the eyes, nose and the dropper spill.  The papers are from a flowery DCWV paperstack that I bought off my crafty friend Elaine off facebook.  It is quite simple with just a bit of bakers twine and organza ribbon but the image is quite busy and I think it balances out well.  The sentiment I did on the computer.

For anyone interested it is House Mouse Saturday again today at 12.00 noon with the new Gruffies stamps which are the new cute bears - I have samples but will share them later!

Joanna is on again later today at 3pm with the new Groovy baby 70's stamps and DIY stamps.

Also, the new weekly Blog Candy starts today on the Joanna Sheen Challenge blog with this fab prize up for grabs kindly donated by Joanna!

You don't need a blog to join in the candy (or the current challenge) so be sure to check it out!

I will enter this into the House Mouse and friends Monday Challenge - Warm and fuzzy (I would love to be on the DT for this as I love working with House Mouse

Just inklined Wedding DT sample

Hiya Everyone,

I've been very busy with DT work and sorting out the new Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog which is going really well.  From Saturday we will be holding weekly blog candy so be sure to check it out!!!

This card is one of my Just Inklined DT samples that I made for a recent Create and Craft TV launch.    These are a new range of sheets that are printed with 4 black outlined images of various kinds that can be coloured to match any project without having to do any stamping!
To find just this sheet I have used here you can got to here.  Single sheets are 0.59p each although Joanna Sheen has a special multi-buy option here for £9.99 which includes 20 sheets which is 80 images!!!

I have coloured this in with my promarkers - mainly vanilla and ivory for the dress and a bit of pink for the roses although I have added some glamour dust all over it for some fab sparkle.  The whole card is made with white pearl card with my divine swirl embossing folder.  I also inked the edges with a little antique linen TH distress ink.  The sentiment is a wood backed one that was probably a car boot buy that my Dad bought me.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Wild rose studio "Kitty with cake"

Hiya everyone,

Tayla's party went really well and she was spoilt rotten for both her actual birthday on the thursday and at her party yesterday.  Only a few more weeks and she'll get spoilt all over again!  I promised I'd share with you the card I made for her.  I decided to use this Wild Rose Studio stamp as she loves cats and I used some papercellar papers that my mum in law gave me a couple of weeks ago.  This range of stamps are definately in my favourites list.  I'm not so bothered about the people ones but love the cute animals.  I know everybody seems obsessed with Tilda but I'd rather have some cute little critters any day!

I have stamped the image several times and coloured it with my promarkers layering it up as I thought she would find it more interesting.  I also made it into an easel card as I'd not made one for a while.  This is the first time I have used the oval snellie nellen oval die and the star MS border punch. The big number one I cut out by hand as I couldn't be bothered digging out my cricut which is unboxed but still in the spare room that is full of stuff to go in the loft.  We have the loft ladder and are just waiting for the guy to come back and fit it.  Once that's done we can board the loft and them hide all the stuff we can't bear to throw away up there!

Don't forget the new Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog is now up and running with the first challenge being "Christmas wishes" - to have a looky go to here.  In addition to the challenge I will be posting a daily talent spot from the entries so far with a piccie and a link back to the persons blog.  It seems to be popular so far and I have had some nice feedback.  It only takes me a few minutes to do but I think it will really make someones day if their card is posted!

Just inklined Mens Digi sheet DT sample

Hiya everyone,

As you all know I have been mad busy recently and I can now share these cards I made as they have already been shown on Create and Craft TV.  They are new sheets by Just Inklined and are 4 digital black and white images printed onto smooth white card making them ideal for promarkers/copics/spectrum noirs.  They are also ideal if you like colouring but aren't a big fan of stamping.  They are 59p each for the sheet with 4 images which is great value for money!  Check them out as there are loads of designs!

This card has been made from a sheet of 4 images of planes which is available here although I opted for the image of a hurricane which is what my dad told me it was.  I coloured the image with my promarkers and some of the papers are from a fabulous downloadable set called aviator which is available from scrap matters here.  The off white, red and blue shabby papers are from a freebie Summer Driggs kit called freedom which is available here.   I made a union jack out of the red, white and blue papers and printed out a "your country needs you" posters that I found on google.  The air mail logo is also from the aviator set as is the postmark backround paper.  It makes an ideal mens card which is why I gave it a "Happy Birthday Grandad" sentiment as I though the war theme would appeal to an older gent!

I hope you like it and I will share the others made with the different sheets with you over the next week or so!

Thanks for looking!!!

Crafters Companion December Challenge card!!!

Hiya Everyone,

It's that time again to share with you my challenge card for the Crafters Companion Monthly Challenge.  The theme this month is "New beginnings" so I decided to make a wedding card for my cousin who is getting married later this month.  I have used my Humphrey CD rom and printed off this gorgeous wedding image that I have just added a little glamourdust to.  As I have been soooo busy I thought I would kill two birds with one stone (again).   It is very CAS which isn't my usual thing but I do like it for a change.

I have used my favourite snowflake embossing folder and embossed half a white square before mounting onto navy card - it does look almost black in the piccie but it is navy, I promise!  I then added a little navy ribbon round the middle and knotted a bit more round it to the side of my image.  I then added a snowflake I cut from my spellbinders create a flake set and then added a smaller silver one to the centre before adding a diamante to the centre.  The sentiment I did on the computer - the font is Harrington.

Today is my gorgeous little girl Tayla's birthday who will be 1 today and also the start of the new Joanna Sheen Challenge blog.  The theme this month is "Christmas wishes" so I'd love to see you all take part.  You can use any image but if you use a Joanna Sheen image you get an extra dip into the randomly drawn prize draw!!!  We are having a little party for her tomorrow so I will post the card I made for her tomorrow as I have already shared 2 cards with you today!

My card has been made with one of my favourite House Mouse stamps that I got last year and never used as I'd just had Tayla.  This image is from a set called "opening presents".  I have coloured in my image with my promarkers and added some glossy accents to the eyes and nose.

The papers are from an 8x8 Deck the halls papermania set that I bought a wee while ago and had never used.  The MS holly border punch and the normal holly punch are both crafty bargains that I bought off crafty facebook friends.  Please forgive the not so good piccies.  My camera died so I've been using my mums and I've not quite got the hang of it Lol.

I would also like to wish my gorgeous little girl a very happy 1st birthday today - I love you sweetie!!!!

House Mouse Get well samples CAS

Hiya Everyone,

I just thought I'd another of my recent samples from the new Joanna Sheen get well soon House Mouse stamps.  This one is from the "Doctors orders" set which is available here
As you all know I'm more than a little partial to House Mouse stamps Lol so I just love it when I open my next lot of goodies from Joanna Sheen and find new House Mouse releases in there - not that I don't like the other stuff but these really are my favourites!

I have coloured the image in with my promarkers and used a heart embossing folder on plain white card.  I don't often do the clean and simple look but I think it works really well here with this image.  It also makes a change to do something different which is why I made a DL shaped card as it is so easy to get stuck in a square rut! Lol

I'm so busy at the moment as I have new samples to make, we're in the middle of decorating the hall, stairs and landing, have the first Joanna Sheen Challenge starting on the 1st December and have Tayla's 1st birthday on the same day!  We really are kind of up to our eyes in it! Lol.  We're having a little party for her on friday 2nd even though our hall will be nowhere near finished but the only people that are coming are people who won't care.   We would have had it on the saturday instead but that night is my work Christmas Do so I have a very busy week indeed!  Luckily, I've already made her a card as I'd never have forgiven myself if I'd ran out of time, especially with it being her first one!

I am so looking forward to the new Official Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog starting up - there's still time to join in the blog-hop before the first challenge starts - click here to take part in the blog hop where there are 9 prizes up for grabs!!!  We have such an awesome DT on board and I am stunned by the talent and variety of the work that they've all produced ready for the first challenge - you really are in for a treat!

Finally, I just wanted to thank all my lovely followers who have kindly stuck by me whilst I have been busy recently and have not been updating my blog as often as I'd have liked.  I haven't had chance to enter a challenge for ages as I just don't have the time to spend 2 or 3 hours linking my cards up which is a shame as I do enjoy taking part.

New Pink Gem Guest DT card

Hiya Everyone,

It's my last challenge card for "A gem of a challenge".   I was a guest designer for a 3 month stint so my time is up! Lol

The theme this time is Monochrome with the added requirements of non-Christmas with an added sentiment.   I decided on a grey colourscheme as it's a little bit more unusual as grey is usually thought of a bit of a dreary colour but I think this looks quite classy.

The papers are from the Summer Driggs "Dryer lint at Tiffanys" freebie download which is available here.  Her kits are amazing and I use them all the time.   The image is from Pink Gem Designs and is called "Kaya with flowers" and is available here.  The sentiment is one off a random sheet I dug out that had elephants on it but I have no idea who made it.  The image is coloured in with promarkers using only ice grey 1-5.

I added a little silver grey shimmer chalk all over the image for a little subtle shimmer.   A few punched flowers, a little grey lace and a swirl.  I was pleased with the way it turned out!

I have really enjoyed my GDT stint for Janet at Pink Gem Designs and I'll miss working with her fab papers and digis!

Just to let you know there's still time to enter the Joanna Sheen Blog hop which ends at 6pm on Wednesday 30th November.  You need to go to the Official Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog to take part here.

New look christmassey blog!!!

Hiya Everyone,

I have spent most of the day messing around with my blog and after several attempts to change it which I hated I decided on this cute gingerbread background. It's actually a template so it adds all sorts of extra bit and bobs which are dead cute!

I also added snow which you can just about see on the darker bits. I didn't bother making my blog christmassey last year as I just had Tayla so I thought I would this year and I have to say I love it!

Tayla will be 1 year old on the 1st December which is the same date the new Official Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog starts - it's going to be a busy month! Lol

Tayla has been walking since she was 9 and a half months old so is a right handful. She is such a happy baby I truly feel so blessed to have her in my life.

Joanna Sheen House Mouse Get well samples

Hiya Everyone,

I am still on a high after the BIG announcement of the new Official Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog that I am running as of the 1st December. A big thanks to Joanna, Pat and the rest of the design team for all of their support and to Angie Whalley for all her help designing the challenge blog backgrounds/blinkies/header etc.

Most of the work is done so I can put my feet up now as it's been long few weeks. Hopefully I'll be able to spend a bit more time on my poor, neglected blog!

It seems fitting to share with you one of my recent Joanna Sheen House Mouse samples that were shown on the last House Mouse Saturday on Create and Craft TV.

The image is from the the "Doctor's orders" rubber stamp sheet and is available here. These really are timeless images that can be used time and time again. House Mouse is seriously my absolute favourite and although I have most of the Joanna Sheen stamps I also have quite a few that I have bought from the US too! :D

I have coloured the image with my promarkers and tend to stick with Joanna's choice of sandstone and blush although I added a little vanilla and ivory to the squirrel. The papers are from a old unwanted DCWV paperstack that I bought off one of my crafty facebook friends. It is quite simple with the added interest of one of my many Martha Stewart punches. The pretty thick lace (I think) I got from Wild Orchid Crafts ages ago but was so pretty I've not used it up till now!

Note to self....Pretty things I buy, I buy to use (allegedly....not to hide away in my stash till it's naff and unfashionable Lol). I really have to force myself to use my pretty stuff - I actually wince when I take the first crisp piece of paper out of a brand spanking new paperstack - this is one of reasons I love digi papers as I can print off what I like and not just stroke them!

Please tell me it's not just me?!? Do I need help?!? Probably....Ah well....the other day at work I actually bought a buttered barmcarm for 40p for my lunch so I could have a crisp butty as I have (in my humble opinion) far better things to spend my money on! OMG!!! - My name is Paula and I am a craft-o-holic! I would hang my head in shame but I don't care!!! Lol

Some fab news!!!!!

Hiya everyone,

I have got some amazing news for you. I have spent the last month or so putting together.......wait for it......

An Official Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog!!!!!!

As you may or may not know - I have been a DT member for Joanna Sheen for about 12 months so I make samples that are shown on Create and Craft TV and on the website so I am really excited about Joanna's new venture into blogland!!!

Joanna has been incredibly supportive and has generously donated prizes for the winners of the challenges.

To celebrate the launch of the Official Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog we are holding a blog hop the week before the first challenge. The hop will run from Thursday 24th November till 6pm Wednesday 30th November and there will be 9 - yes 9 prizes up for grabs as each DT member each has a prize!!!

The Official Joanna Sheen Challenge blog is just been finished so I will post the blog hop info on Thurday 24th November.

I would like take the time to thank Angie Whalley for all her help with getting the blog to look pretty as she designed the header, background and all the blinkies. If you would like a custom blog background them don't hesitate to check out her blog and get in touch with her

Now you know why I've been so busy and why I've been neglecting my own blog. I've been right a busy bee, what with returning to work, looking after Tayla, making samples and somehow managing to find time to eat! Lol

Most of the hard work is done, we have an awesome DT in place for some fab inspiration so I can't wait for it to start. It's also Tayla's 1st birthday on the 1st December so it's going to be a busy month!!! Soooo exciting!!!

A gem of a challenge GDT card!!!

Hiya Everyone,

This is my late (Oops!) A gem of a challenge card which I should have uploaded yesterday. My hubby has been away all weekend on a stag weekend so I took Tayla to my mums and completely forgot to schedule my post before I went.

Better late than never though eh?

This challenge is a sketch one so I decided to make a baby girl card as my friend Michelle has recently had a little one and I've been so busy lately that I hadn't had chance to make a card but I thought I could kill 2 birds with one stone so to speak. There is the added theme of real or faux stitching.

The cute Pink Gem giraffe digi image is called "Ginny with flowers" and is available here. The lush backing papers are from a new Nitwits kit called "Grin and bear it". They are my first Nitwits kit and I fear it's going to be a slippery slope! Lol If you have never visited their site then look away before it's too late!!!
The round sentiment is a polymer stamp which is also from Pink Gem and is available here.

I look forward to seeing what you create!!!

Thanks for looking!!!
