I have been really poorly in the last few weeks so I have barely made anything so it took me all my time to muster the energy to make this challenge card.  As much as I love crafting - I just wasn't in the mood at all although I am quite pleased with the finished card.  I went for quite a clean and simple look as it can take me ages to decide on papers etc so I went with just one colour (red) and white with just using my divine swirls embossing folder for a bit of added interest.  The stamp is a wooden backed one from stampabilities although I can't remember what it's called....Oops!  I have coloured the hopper in with my promarkers as usual.  The sentiment is a wooden stamp that is probably a car boot buy that my dad bought for me.

You can tell how ill I've been - I still haven't inked up my lovely new Wild Rose Studio stamps that I received last week as part of my DT kit!  All those cute little Bella's....sob!

Today, I am actually feeling a lot better after a few days off work as I really haven't done anything but relax trying to get better.  I think my mum and dad must be sick of the sight of me as I've been hanging round theirs for the last few days.  Luckily, they only live a few minutes walk away!  I used to live next door to them until I moved in with the hubby!

I hope you've all enjoyed the good weather we've been having this weekend.  If it's still nice on wednesday we hope to take Tayla to the zoo.  We were going to go last wednesday but I didn't feel up to it!

Happy Handy Hippo day!!!

Hiya everyone,

This is my very first step by step tutorial in collaboration with Handy Hippo on-line craft store.  I basically make a card, take piccies at different stages and you can all make the same card yourselves.  Apologies for the not so good piccies - my camera died a few weeks back and I've not bought a replacement yet!

For this project you will need:-

Wild Rose Studio "Fergus with bouquet" stamp
Wild Rose Studio "Candy floss" papers
Circle nestabilities
Scalloped circle nestabilities
Martha Stewart Doily lace trim border punch
Mini butterfly punch
Adhesive pearls
Irridescent glitter

 Step 1

Cut a 14cm square of pink stripy paper and mount onto hot pink card.  Attach to a 6x6 white card blank.

 Step 2

Using a sheet of the green doily print paper, cut off 2 of the corners and place them on the two corners of the card as shown.

Step 3

Using more of the hot pink card, cut a border strip with the MS doily lace trim punch and attch to the card just under halfway down.

Step 4

Cut a 10cm square from the green rose print paper and mount onto more of the pink card.  Attach this to the centre of your card using foam pads.

Step 5

Stamp the Fergus image onto white card and colour him in to match the colours of the papers used.  I used my promarkers as they are my favourites.  Once coloured, cut the fergus out with a plain circle nestabilite.  Also cut a slightly larger scalloped circle nestabilitie from the more of the pink card.

Step 6

Attach the image to the scalloped circle and then fix to the centre of the middle sqaure panel with foam pads.

Step 7

Stamp or print out a Mother's Day sentiment and mount onto pink card.  Attach this to the bottom of the square panel as shown.  Add a few hot pink adhesive pearls to top left and bottom right hand corners of your card.  To finish, punch a couple of butterflies with the mini punch and attach to the card.  Add a little glitter to the butterfly bodies for a little added sparkle.

I really hope you enjoyed my tutorial and that you will try my design out for yourself!  If you click on the Happy Hippo magic button below it will take you directly to their site and place all the main items that you will need to complete this project.  Once there, you can take out any items you already have or add any extra items whilst shopping!

Joanna Sheen Spring Challenge Card

Hiya everyone,

It's the beginning of the month so it's time to share with you my card that I made for the Spring/Easter challenge that started today over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge.  This is our last monthly challenge before we change to bi-weekly on the 1st April!!!

I bet you're all shocked that it  isn't a House Mouse card Lol but I really wanted to use my Joanna Sheen pressed flowers stamps that I got last year.  They are so pretty and so versatile.  This stamp is from the "narcissi" set which you can get here.

The papers I have used are from the lemon sorbet capsule collection papers from papermania that I got in a Docrafts goody bag a while ago.  I used two sheets of gingham papers, one which is slightly darker yellow than the other.  I was going to put a springy sentiment on it but realised it's my Nan's 87th birthday on the 8th March so I decided to make her a birthday card instead.

I used my very under-used Martha Stewart deep border punch and inked all the edges in old paper distress ink.  The stamp I stamped directly onto the lighter gingham paper and layered them up.  I had a little of the darker yellow paper left so I stamped the centre of the daffodil only onto the scraps I had left.  This saved me doing any colouring whatsoever which is good as I'm quite a slow colourer!   The ribbon and bow (I think) are from the sunshine capsule collection which were from a previous Docrafts goody bag!

I hope to see all your spring entries and that you drop by.  If you don't have a blog you can still enter (see the JS challenge blog for more info)

Thanks so much for looking!
