Sarah Lawrence heart stamp card
Hiya everyone,
Please don't go - you have come to the right place! Lol
I know this card is a complete change from my usual thing but I have been wanting to try something a bit different for a while. This card features the heart shaped stamp designed by Sarah Lawrence that was a freebie on the February issue of Craft Stamper magazine. The craft cupboard (a crafty facebook group) is running a valentine competition to make a creation using this stamp. It is being judged by Katy Fox who is the editor for the Craft Stamper magazine so I thought I'd give it a whirl.
I obviously had the stamp to use as a starting point but I also decided I wanted to use the "3 little words" sentiment and the rest I kind of threw together. I was initially toying with the idea of putting a clockwork key on to the heart but went with the wings instead. The wings were an image I found on google that I just printed onto white card and cut out. I went over them with my ivory and grey promarker to tone down the whiteness. I also used brushed corduroy distress ink on everything apart from the ripped edge as I wanted to keep that as it was.
The heart stamp has been stamped onto a small offcut of some gorgeous paper from DCWV love and wedding paperstack. I have had it years and it's one of my favourite ever paperstacks although I've got barely any of it left now! :(
The font I have used here is 1942 which is a great antique typewriter style which I love. It is available as a freebie from here.
I'd appreciate any comments or feedback on this as it's completely out of my comfort zone - I did enjoy making it though!
Thanks for looking!
Paula. x

Hi Paula,
ReplyDeleteI think this is a lovely card and considering you say it's out of your comfort zone, it doesn't look it.
I hate trying to give feedback, I feel as if I am saying something is wrong, when it isn't. However as you asked, I would love to see maybe a charm or two dangling from a fine chain or something (toward the left side, centre downwards). Please remember that is only my opinion/taste, someone else will prob say I am totally wrong (and they could be right).
I will keep my fingers x'd for you.
Hugs Linda
