Tayla on the swings

Hiya Everyone,

Apologies for not blogging for, OMG, over a week but I've been so busy with various samples, although yesterday I spent a lovely day with my mum and dad as we took Tayla to Stanley park where we fed the ducks, geese and squirrels. It was also the first time Tayla went on the swings, slide and see-saw. It was a gorgeous day and after all the fresh air she went out like a light!

I will share a few cards with you shortly - I was going to share my last Joana Sheen samples but I'm not sure what I've done with my camera as I have to hide it from from Tayla as she loves it. As soon as I find it I will upload them. I've had to borrow my mums to take piccies of my latest Pink gem DT card that I made today for the new challenge that starts Saturday.

This is a piccy of me feeding a squirrel - one actually took a nut from my hand!

Pink gem sketch challenge card!!!

Hiya Everyone,

Wow!!! Has 2 weeks gone by already?!? I must admit it has been a bit of a blur with everything I've had to do although it's a little bit quieter now on the DT work front. I have my next Pink Gem blog challenge card to share with you which is based on a great sketch by Jenny. This challenge runs from Saturday 17th September to 6pm Friday 30th September.

I decided to do a boys card so I used the fab Pink Gem image of Philip sat down. If you want to get this digi of Philip for yourself it is £1.25 and available from here. I printed him out 3 times, once for the base image, 1 I cut out fully and the last 1 I just cut out the head and legs. I coloured him in with my promarkers. The papers are from Summer Driggs fab freebie digi kit "Freedom" which you can download here. While you are there, check outher other fab digi kits which are all free to download!

The stars are two punches that I bought off a lady off facebook which I added glossy accents and bakers twine to. The sentiment I did on the computer.

Another Guest DT sample for just inklined!!!

Hiya everyone,

As promised I have another Just Inklined sample to share with you today. This is from another new range of foiled die cut christmas topper sheets. This one is from the "Christmas canvas" range. The church image, if you can tell, is very lightly decoupaged which is so easy as these are die cut sheets so no fiddly cutting out to do! I added some gorgeous irridescent glamour dust to the church and treetops which just looks amazing (if I do say so myself Lol!)

A bit of of matting and layering with some shiny gold and red card and the result is a very striking, classy card!

I have some Joanna Sheen samples to make and I have some house mouse samples that I did for the last house mouse saturday show which I'll hopefully share with you over the next few days. I'm hoping to chill out a bit as I'm going back at work in few weeks as I've been on maternity leave for about 10 months. I think standing up all day will be a bit of a shock to the system after being off for so long. I'm not looking forward to leaving Tayla as she's just starting to walk and gets more and more interesting as the days go by and I'm terrified I'll miss stuff that I'll never get back :(

Guest DT spot for Just Inklined!!!

Hiya Everyone,

I have been absolutely snowed under the last few weeks but calm is now returning to my crafty life. I was recently asked by the lovely Jak Heath if I would do a guest DT spot for Just Inklined so I jumped at the chance. I was sent some lovely foiled christmassy die cut toppers to work with and have a sample made with a sheet from the "book at bedtime" range to share with you today.

I used the open book topper which has a few elements that you build up in a kind of decoupage way. I added a little glamour dust to the topper but it is so stunning on it's own that it really didn't need anything!

The papers I have used are from a papermania silent night stack which I really like as it's very traditional and went well with the topper. I'm a bit low on certain christmas supplies as I didn't buy any last year as I had Tayla on the 1st December so I didn't really make anything for quite a while!

Check out the website for all the fab stuff that's available including some amazing digi stamps!!!

I will have another Just inklined sample to share with you tomorrow so be sure to pop back!!!

Last Christmas Humphrey sneaky peek!

Hiya Everyone,

I just thought I'd share with you the my last Crafters Companion Christmas Humphrey sample with you as there's not long left!!! Woo-hoo!!! Tune in tonight at 9pm on create and craft to get your hands on the Christmas Humphrey pick of the day.

This card I made again using the card companions section - If you are not familiar with this it is a section on the CD rom where you can print off a semi finished card front as well as toppers, sentiments and embellishments all on the one sheet! You can then cut the bits you want to use out and put them together to make a quick and easy card. There really is something for everyone on the CD from a basic beginner level right up to an experienced crafter!

With this card all I have added is a little stickles glitter glue round the edge and a bit of funky fibres and a diamante to the little tag. Looks really impressive and took about 10 minutes if that!

I hope you all have a good day!

Today's the day - Launch of Christmas Humphrey!!!!

Hiya Everyone,

The last week has flown by and the launch day of Christmas Humphrey by Crafters Companion is finally here!!!! Woo-hoo!!! Being released is a fab double CD rom that is bustin at the seams full of papers, images, toppers, decoupage etc as well as several Christmas rubber stamp sets. They are designed to work really well together and I would get both but the the CD is a great as a stand alone item as are the stamps to use with your own papers. If yoftu bought the normal Humphrey CD a few weeks back then you know you will not be disappointed with this.

Here is a card I made with the card companions section of the CD which is a printed off sheet which includes a semi-finished card base and a few matching toppers. They are ideal for a quick and easy card as you can put one together in a matter of minutes (rather than the hours it usually takes me to make a card!)

I have added a few diamantes, some glitter and a little glossy accents but other than that it's all off the printed sheet!

I have one other sneaky peek which I will share with you all shortly!!!

Be sure to tune in a 9pm on Create and Craft TV!!!

More Christmas Humphrey!!!

Hiya Everyone,

Apologies for going AWOL with my Crafters Companion Christmas Humphrey sneaky peaks but I didn't have many to show you so I thought I'd leave it over the weekend which tends to be quieter anyway and leave my last few till today. Been dead busy finishing a big order so not bin doing much but that.

Anyhoo, this is probably my favourite card of the ones I made. It is a decoupage sheet and papers printed from the new Christmas Humphrey new double CD rom which is being launched on tuesday as a POTD. I have added a liitle glitter, my fab new marianne creatables icicles die and some fabric flowers - oh and a blue pearl brad which is lush.

The image is so cute - you almost expect to see those little gloves dangling that thread through the arms Lol! It makes me feel dead christmassey!!!

I will share the last of my sneak peeks with you tomorrow so be sure to pop back!!!

I will enter this into the following challenges:-

Bearly mine - Flower, flowers, flowers
Creative card crew - Anything goes
Going grey with scrap creations - Winter wishes
Lady bug crafts ink - Anything goes
Ribbon carousel - Anything goes (must include ribbon)
Stamp n doodle - Anything goes
Try it on tuesday - Monochrome

Even more Humphrey!!! Sneak peeks!!!

Hiya Everyone,

It's only a few more days till the new Crafters Companion Humphrey christmas double CD and lush rubber stamp set are due to be launched as the pick of the week on create and craft TV. Me and the rest of the design team have been sharing our samples with you so be sure to check out my fellow DT's blogs!!!

Well, you can I tell I made this one can't you? Lol. For a change I thought I'd use the Alphabet feature on the CD rom and decided to make a personalised card for my little girl (even though she won't get it!) I printed out the letters onto thin card and cut them out by hand. I attached them with big blogs of collall 3d glue gel.

I also printed off a decoupage image sheet but I decided not to use the decoupage layers. I layered my image silver mirror card then onto matching pink paper from the CD and shiny silver mirror card which is a nightmare to photograph! As a finishing touch I added stardust glitter glue to my letters and a few pink hearts. It may not be terribly fancy but I could imagine somebody would be pleased to receive a card with their name on it!!!

Another christmas Humphrey!!!

Hiya Everyone,

I have another sample made with the fabulous new Christmas Humphrey double CD rom which is pick of the week on the 13th September along with gorgeous new Christmas Humphrey rubber stamp sets. This images and papers are off the Ho ho ho CD which is disc 2. The image is actually from a circular pyramage sheet but I'm personally not a bit fan of pyramage so I just used the main base image. I love normal decoupage though!!! Since discovering collall 3D glue gel has made decoupage so much easier as you can manipulate it into place which you can't do with foam pads.

Tayla is still teething but isn't quite so grouchy now luckily. Only got a few more weeks till I go back to work so I'm dreading it - I'm really going to miss her! :(

Christmas Humphrey sneek peeks!!!!

Hiya Everyone,

It's nearly time for a fabulous new launch from Crafters Companion. For everybody who fell in love with a certain cute little elephant (ie everybody Lol), they have brought out an amazine new double CD and range of stamps. As part of the Crafters Companion DT I get my mitts on these early ***happy dance*** but I have been so busy with other stuff that I was only able to make my minimum of 6. The rest of the DT have been sharing their makes from monday but I have been putting it off as I only had 6 although I'm hoping to make another couple.

The new Humphrey christmas range is being launched on the 13th September as a Pick of the Week on create and craft and I have a feeling they'll be a sell out as usual!!!

My card today is made using the Ho, ho, ho cd rom which I think is disc 2. I have printed a decoupage sheet and papers from the CD rom. I have added a little glamour dust to the bits of snow which just adds a bits of sparkle!

I hope you like it and be sure to pop back tomorrow for another sneaky peek!!!

I will enter this into the following challenges:-

MY SUPER-DUPER AUGUST BIRTHDAY CANDY WINNER!!!!!

Hiya Everyone,

It's a fab day today and is unusually sunny. It made me realise that I'd missed most of the summer decorating which is a shame. Still, I'm looking forward to next year when Tayla will be walking and will love playing outside. I've just spent a fortune an a massive little tykes 8 in 1 climbing frame which we'll put up next year after we get part of our garden fenced off. We are now on a corner with a large garden but it's a little too open at the moment and I want Tayla to be safe!

I have some bad news.....I'm going back to work in October so I only have another 4 weeks left of my maternity leave. I was hoping to go back after christmas but I think we'd struggle so I'm going back on the 3rd. I love looking after Tayla and I'm really going to miss her but I don't really have a choice. Luckily, they're letting me go back monday - friday which means I can still do my workshops and demo days so I'm really pleased about that as I would hate to have given it up! I only craft when Tayla's in bed too so I'm hoping being back at work won't make too much difference to my crafting! (fingers crossed)

Anyhoo, I know you're all dying to know who was picked by random.org to win my fabby Tim Holtz blog candy!!!

***Drum roll, please***

No. 4 - Which is Lee from Craftyloops blog! - Woo-hoo!!!!!

If you get in touch hun, I'll get them packaged up and sent to you!!!

I will be posting my September blog candy shortly (when I dig it out and photograph it Lol) so be sure to pop back - It's some fab christmassy goodies!!!

Thanks for looking!!!

Septembers Crafters Companion blog challenge card!!!

Hiya Everyone,

I have my September Crafters Companion Blog Challenge card to share with you today which is made with the fabulous popcorn stamps available from here. The theme this month is "Christmas" so it gives you all an excuse to dig out your christmas stash. It also made me realise that I need some new christmas stuff as I didn't buy anything last year as I'd only just had Tayla on the 1st December so I didn't make any Christmas cards apart from a few Joanna Sheen House Mouse samples. I even bought 9 LOTV christmas new releases in the November that I still haven't used....Oops!

The lovely traditional papers I have used are from a Papermania "Silent Night" A4 paperstack that I actually bought for making a card with for the Papermania category in the Cardmaker of the Year competition but I didn't as I ran out of time. Still, I'm glad I bought it as it contains some fab papers. I like it so much that I've just bought a new set! The poinsettia die cut is the mini version of the marainne creatables and I just love it. I have to stop myself from putting them on every christmas card I do! Lol

It is an 8x8 card as I like to vary the size I use although I do feel I have kinda got stuck in a "square card rut" so I'm going to try really hard to dig myself out of it!

If you have a christmas card you want to share with us over at the Crafters Companion monthly challenge blog then click here. There will be a £30 gift voucher to spend over at the Crafters Companion website which is randomly picked and you may be lucky enough to be picked as one of the top 3!!!

I hope to have a looking at all your festive creations soon!!!

Please check out my Christmassey monthly blog candy for September shortly.

Thanks for looking!!!
