We have a brand new challenge starting today over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge blog
We want to see all your cards that have a sentiment as a main focal point rather than an image although your card have an image on it.
My DT card was a sample I made a while ago for the release of the new Joanna Sheen pressed flowers stamps - this card features 2 different ivy stamps and is from the "narcissi" set. I was very lucky to be able to work with all 3 sets which are so versatile. You can check them out for yourself here. My card is a gatefold card which isn't something I do very often but I thought it would work best with the effect I was trying to go for. It looked so much better in real life as mirri card is difficult to photograph but most cards do don't they? The leaves were coloured with my promarkers and then layered up around the sentiment panel - I used a clear sakura glaze pen on the edges and veins for added effect but you can't really tell from the piccie. The sentiment is one I printed out on my computer although I can't remember the name of the font!
I had intended to make a card specially for the challenge but I haven't been feeling well after I almost passed out at work so I was sent home. I'm feeling a bit more like myself now as I felt dreadful at the time but my midwife told me to take it easy so I've not done much at all over the last week or so. I only have a few more weeks left at work which I'm pleased about and I finish about 6 weeks before I'm due on the 2nd November.
Thanks for looking!
Paula. x

ReplyDeleteStunning card Paula, such a lovely delicate design.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you have been unwell but glad that you are feeling a bit better now, try to take it easy - I know that is easier said than done.
I hope you enjoy the rest of the weekend
Hugs Sue
Beautiful card Paula love the sentiment and the layout xx
ReplyDeleteThis is gorgeous. Glad you feel a bit better now.
ReplyDeleteHi Paula,
ReplyDeleteLovely card. I love to make cards with just words very often, it speaks to the recipient instantly of the feeling you are sending.
Sorry to hear you felt so bad but glad you are feeling a bit brighter. It won't be long now and the feelings of being poorly will be exchanged for tiredness and sleepless nights but at least you will have your beautiful baby to lift your spirits. Best wishes Linda x
Hi Paula...
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear that you were so poorly at work. Thats a horrible feeling!
pleased that you have had a rest now...Don't over do it...the little wee thing is taking a lot of your strength..
You are doing well still cardmaking.
I have lost some of my mojo this summer...but just got my WRS package so I may try to make some cards with the panels to pirk it up again...lol
Gorgeous card hugs Ginny ♥

Big hug,
Sonia
Hope you are feeling better now Paula. I have dropped a clanger I'm afraid. I was trying to enter the challenge blog (my first time) and clicked the wrong button. It is now pointing to the wrong post on my blog and I am unable to delete the entry. I tried to contact you via your email address but the link doesn't appear to be working. Sorry about this, you have enough to do without this sort of mess-up. Christine
ReplyDeleteHi Paula
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog while looking up storage suggestions for Promarkers. I have tried emailing you for a copy of the word document for the spines of the DVD cases but it bounced back. Is the contact info on your profile correct? Pippa
Love this card. The gold matting coupled with the distressed paper looks amazing. I like how you layered the leaves as well. I'm going to have to try a card like this!
